Accounting Specialist
Key Responsibilities
- Posts customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions and by verifying and entering transaction deposits.
- Maintains a healthy accounts receivable record by calling on past due customers for payment.
- Maintains and reconciles accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
- Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
- Maintains historical records by electronic filing of documents into QuickBooks and internal shared folders.
- Reports sales taxes by calculating requirements on paid invoices.
- Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
Requirements
- Two- or Four-year college degree in Accounting, Business or related field
- Has strong organization, accounting, data entry skills, analyzing information, attention to detail
- Has strong organizational, accounting, data entry and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail
- General math skills, financial software experience and the ability to multi-task
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written
- Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment
- Must be willing to learn new procedures and software as needed
- Must have experience with Microsoft Software: Word, Excel, Outlook
Job Details
- Full-time position – normal office hours 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Flexibility to work overtime on weekdays and weekends during month end and peak seasons
